Osteology Dress & Cyborg Cat

Above is my new dress, made with Alexander Henry Osteology fabric. The dress is a mix of patterns - Simplicity 1699 for the skirt, Simplicity 1651 for the bodice and McCalls 6278 for the modified sleeves. Simplicity 1651 is a new pattern and while it looked smooth and nice, it was not so. The shoulder seams were so out of whack! They might fit if my shoulders were 3 inches higher and sloped upwards towards my ears! The front sweetheart neckline was also way too wide, thank goodness I cut the bodice in lining first! You can't see, but there are self covered buttons with skulls on the sleeves.

Max went to the vet to get his last round of boosters today. When I adopted his 2 years ago he weighed 10 pounds and he now weighs 12.5! When I was waiting for his I inquired about getting him micro chipped.after I heard some scary stats about missing kitties on tv. To my surprise it was only $40!
When I got home my boyfriend insisted on talking to him like a robot, now that he's a cyborg. Then he "forced" me to sing the theme song from Small Wonder to Max, which for some reason I know all the lyrics to...

  1. I love your dress! And three cheers for Max's microchip! I'm so glad that you guys know what "Small Wonder" is. I hardly ever talk to anyone who remembers that Vicki kid.

  3. You, Madame, are a dangerous women! I already bought some of the Edgar Allan Poe fabric you used for your last dress and now the next amazing fabric is shown in your creation! You force me to spend all my money on US fabrics! ;)

And you look beautifull in all your creations, I'd love to meet you in person one day...

    1. Ha! Sorry about that! But I'm sure you have something wonderful planned for that Edgar Allen Poe fabric!
I bought the Osteology fabric from Michael Levine - http://lowpricefabric.com/
I have to warn you they also have a sekelton toile that is amazing!
Thanks so much for all your compliments, I'd love to visit Germany one day, in fact I'm slowly learning German so I can at least try to have a conversation!

  4. Beautiful dress, as always Mme. Polaire! And I love your boots!! I'd ask what brand they are, but I'm afraid you're going to tell me they're thrifted or you bought them a long time ago and they're no longer available, so I'll save myself the heartache and not even ask. ;o)

Max is looking remarkably calm for a cat who's on his way to the vet. LOL

    1. Thanks Insomnia! You guessed right on the boots. I got them at a consignment store not that long ago, BUT they have no markings in them whatsoever!
